Anita’s interests in art started at high school when she dabbled in many forms of art and craft, from woodwork to batik and silk screening. After completing high school she attended the Melbourne College of Decoration and completed a 2 year full-time Certificate of Interior Decoration course.
Anita’s mother and brother are both artists and have held many art exhibitions over the years, and her brother operates Boom Gallery in Newtown, Geelong.
Mission Beach Artists commenced the acrylic workshops with Emma Bryant on a monthly basis, which Anita attended for 12 months. Prior to commencing this she picked up her charcoals and commenced drawing. Even Anita was surprised at the results and went to some of Emma’s workshops in Cairns.
Two years ago she completed the 5 day Artescape in Cairns with a Landscape artist, which tested her in many ways.
“I now just do my own thing and haven’t found my area of greatness, so I paint and draw different subjects.” Anita works in a few mediums such as Charcoal, Oil Based Soft Pastels and Acrylic and is always interested in trying something new. 27th April 2012
